Engel Productions is proud to announce that we are working on developing our first feature film written by Michael Engel; "Entering Out - a Spiritual Thriller".
A letter of distribution from Warner Brothers has been aquired by Engel Productions for this film.

This script is based on scientific research done by International Academy of Consciousness.

"Entering Out" was a winner at the 2006 Great Lakes Screenplay Competition, a finalist at the 2006 Latino International Film Festival, semi-finalist of the 2006 Filmmakers International Screenwriting Awards and in 2007 it was a finalist at the Hollywood Outreach Program of the Scriptwriters Network, semi-finalist of the 2007 Cinequest Screenplay Competition and was selected for the 2007 Latino Media Market.

LOG LINE:

A high school student tries to use out-of-body experiences in order to contact his deceased father. In the process he must figure out if he's going crazy, or if his late father's research about reincarnation is true.

SYNOPSIS:

Patrick is an athletic 18-year-old who gets whacked in the head during a baseball game and goes unconscious. His spirit floats from his body and he can see himself lying on the ground.

When he comes to, Patrick tries to explain to everyone that he had an out-of-body experience. No one believes him. His mother thinks this is crazy stuff, but Patrick believes that by studying the out-of-body phenomenon it might lead to his deceased father.

The only person, who believes in Patrick, is his grandmother. She's a wise mentor in his life. Because Patrick continues his spiritual research, he knows she's gone to a better place when she passes away.

Patrick's brother, Evan brings a gun to the house. Patrick finds the gun and hides it. Unfortunately his mother finds it and mistakes it for Patrick's. She has him committed to a psychiatric hospital for his own safety.

Psychiatrists fi Patrick that his out-of-body experiences were just dreams. Just as he's about to be released, his deceased grandmother pays him a visit. She convinces him to have another out-of-body experience. He follows her to an apartment where a woman and her unborn baby are in grave trouble.

Upon returning to his body, Patrick convinces the medical staff at the institution to call for help. They come to the aid of the woman and her baby, proving to everyone including Patrick that he was not insane.

When Patrick meets the baby, he's happy to realize that it's the soul of his father reincarnated.
